Most of our company's satellite ground antennas are C-band and Ku band antennas. Compared with the previous C-band satellite analog broadcasting, Ku band satellite digital broadcasting has its outstanding features due to the use of high frequency Ku band and advanced digital compression technology.
Main features of Ku Band Satellite Broadcasting:
(1) The C-band satellite broadcasting suffers from the same frequency interference of ground microwave and other interference sources, while the Ku band has very small ground interference, high frequency, generally between 12.5-18ghz, which is not easy to be interfered by microwave radiation, greatly reducing the requirements of receiving environment
(2) Ku band is wide and can transmit multiple services and information
(3) Ku band downlink transponder has high transmitting power (above 100W), concentrated energy and convenient reception.
(4) Rainfall has a serious impact on Ku band satellite broadcasting. The rainfall attenuation of uplink and downlink signals is far greater than that of C band. In case of rainstorm, the instantaneous rainfall attenuation of Ku band uplink or downlink can exceed 20dB, while the maximum rainfall attenuation of C band generally does not exceed 1dB.
